Als Sklavenlohn würde ich es nicht bezeichnen.... aber wenn um die 1000 EURo netto übrig bleiben, muss man sich schon Gedanken machen.

Michael hat nicht unrecht.... gut bezahlt sieht anderst aus... über das brauchen wir uns nicht zu streiten.
Und was die Sprache angeht:

Ich kenne einige Goldschmiede die keine Wort Deutsch sprechen, und es klappt wunderbar- Wo ein Wille da ein Weg.

I suggest that if you really want to find a job seriously, you must keep on trying, and maybe find a temporary job for the christmas business. Many jewellers need a few helping hands then. So if you are really good they might keep you afterwards, or introduce you to someone who could use a man like you.

Or try to apply in Pforzheim, county Baden-Württemberg, that is where mainly the Producers are, no need to talk too good german.
Specialists like gem setters are always wanted.

When I started my first Job 28 years ago i was paid for full time 600 DM, that is 300 Eu. Also not enough to live on then. A cleaning woman got more. But that's how it is, get into it first an then make it better.
